WENTZVILLE– A person is dead after a late-night fatal shooting in Wentzville on Tuesday night.
The shooting occurred on the 1300 block of Hidden Valley Drive around 10:30 p.m.
involving two men. The police are still at the scene in the area, hours after the homicide took place.
Investigators are still trying to piece together all of the facts about the shooting. When the officers arrived, they found one of the males suffering from a gunshot wound.
According to the police, medical professionals declared the man dead. The other man, who is considered the suspect in the shooting, ran away before officers got to the scene.
Authorities were given a tip that the suspect was still in the area through the motion detection of a Ring camera, which helped identify the suspect and led the police to apprehend him.
The police contacted a woman at the scene and she is cooperating with the authorities. It’s unclear what her relation may be to those involved in the shooting.
