St. Louis prepares for a week of high temperatures

ST. LOUIS — The bottom line is that it’s hot and that won’t change anytime soon. But let’s get into more of the details. Clear skies on Saturday. We are waking up in the 60s, the coolest out-of-door morning temperatures we’ll see for the next week. Dewpoints are in the 50s, so that will help our Saturday be more comfortable, even with the heat.

Highs will be in the low 90s. Humidity increases overnight into Sunday. Note: Storms over Nebraska this morning will try to dive a bit southeast but should fizzle out well before reaching St. Louis.

Temperatures will remain above average through next week. Our hottest days will be Father’s Day Sunday and Monday, with highs in the mid- to upper 90s and peak afternoon heat index values of 100 to 105.

Starting Monday, there will be a chance for scattered storms to develop each afternoon. The additional clouds and spot rain may bring temperatures down a bit but won’t burst the heat bubble.
