Missouri Gov. Mike Parson said “politics did not play a role” in his decision to appoint corporate attorney Gabe Gore to take the helm as the top prosecutor in the city of St. Louis on Friday. Parson claimed he was unaware of Gore’s party affiliation as a Democrat. And St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones said she would “absolutely” vote for Gore should he choose to run in 2024.
