Seven people injured in overnight North St. Louis shooting

NORTH ST. LOUIS — In a chaotic scene overnight in North St. Louis, seven people were shot outside of a bar. Some 90 shots were fired, but as of this morning, there were no fatalities.

Authorities from the North Patrol Headquarters on Union Blvd. initially responded to the shooting, and now their investigators are handling the case. This all took place just after 10 p.m. last night at Kossuth and East Prairie, near Fairground Park.

In the Fairground neighborhood, FOX 2 is told the violence unfolded in the streets outside of a bar.

Police tell FOX 2 initially, homicide detectives were called in because it was believed that the injuries to one of the victims may have been life-threatening. But then the case was passed back to the district level because all of the victims are now expected to survive.

There were serious injuries, though. Police say a 24-year-old woman was shot in the stomach. She was taken to the hospital, where police told FOX 2 she was listed as having a critical and unstable condition.

A male was also shot in the stomach. He was also taken to the hospital in a critical and unstable condition.

Other victims include a 28-year-old man shot in the arm, a 30-year-old man shot in the back, a 32-year-old woman shot in the arm, and a 54-year-old man shot in the foot.

All four of those victims are listed in stable condition. FOX 2 is still waiting for details from police on the 7th victim.

Police say there were chaotic moments after the shooting because victims kept showing up at hospitals in private vehicles.

The police don’t know what led to the violence. As of this morning, there are no suspects in custody.
