Restaurant opens with rules to keep younger patrons out

FERGUSON, Mo. – A new restaurant in the St. Louis area has a unique twist. A rule to keep younger patrons out only allows men over 35-years-old and women above the age of 30. The reason? To maintain a mature atmosphere like those at some adults-only resorts.

Caribbean restaurant Bliss is the latest addition to Ferguson’s upscale dining scene. It is designed for a more mature crowd.

“It’s been a long time coming,” Martin Pate shared. He and his wife wanted to create a space where adults could relax and enjoy a refined dining experience.

Pate mentioned that a lot of what you see is custom-made, indicating the attention to detail that sets Bliss apart. This includes selfie-friendly spots throughout the restaurant, ensuring guests can capture their glamorous moments.

While Bliss welcomes both men and women, it has a special allure for ladies seeking a chic night out.

“It’s more like a ladies’ night out restaurant,” Pate explained. He added that men are also invited to enjoy the ambiance and Bliss’ specialty cocktails. It’s a place where everyone can feel comfortable and pampered.

A unique feature of Bliss is its age policy.

“The concept was inspired by adult-only resorts we’ve visited,” Pate said. “We wanted to create a similar vibe.”

Pate stated that Bliss fills a void in Ferguson, providing a dining experience that people wanted.

While there is no strict dress code at Bliss, the elegant surroundings encourage guests to dress their best. This is the place for adults to come, relax, and enjoy an experience in an ambiance that makes you feel like you’ve walked into a fantasy.

Bliss is located at 11836 W Florissant Ave, Florissant, MO 63033.
