Previewing the 2024 Celebrate St. Louis’ new look event

ST. LOUIS – Celebrate St. Louis will be the same as it always has at it’s core, but there is one big, major change.

Fair goers can enjoy 2024 Celebrate St. Louis all in one day in a 12-hour window. This years event will start at 10 a.m. July 4th and end about 12 hours later at 10 p.m.

“Celebrate St. Louis is encompassing everything on one day this year,” Tim Meers, general chairman for Celebrate St. Louis, said Tuesday.

The festivities kick off at 10 a.m. with the America’s Birthday Parade, featuring about 140 St. Louis-made floats, marching bands from around the state and other groups walking in the parade.

In the afternoon, it’s the 150th celebration of the Eads Bridge, the return of the airshow and live music featuring Feel, Lupe Fiasco, Locash and The Urge. Fireworks are scheduled to go off at 9:40 p.m.

“It’s going to be a beautiful day,” Meers said. “It’s one of the few times you bring so many people from different regions of the St. Louis metro area and we come together for a great event.”

Meers mentioned that he and his staff are aware of the potential for rain on Thursday and said there is a plan in place to delay the airshow if weather is a factor.
