Police officer sent to hospital, another injured, after police break up a crowd



ST. LOUIS — Seven people were arrested after officers responded to a crowd disturbance at the intersection of Goodfellow and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive. Around 5 p.m. on April 13, authorities received a report of a shooting incident in the vicinity.

When the police arrived they found that no shooting had taken place; however, a sizable crowd had gathered. While attempting to break up the crowd, several fights started, leading to the dispatch of additional officers.

Seven individuals were arrested. One officer was sent to a local hospital for treatment after sustaining head injuries, experiencing pain, and dizziness. Another officer reported a leg injury and received treatment at the scene. Additionally, one of the suspects was subdued with a Taser. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
