IRON COUNTY, Mo. – An SUV struck and fatally injured an Ironton man who was walking along Highway 72 on Tuesday.
The crash occurred around 8:25 p.m., approximately one mile east of Arcadia in Iron County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crash report.
A 2018 Ford Escape traveling eastbound struck Michael Stirts III while he was on the roadway.
Stirts was pronounced dead at the scene by 9 p.m. He was 33. The 60-year-old driver of the Escape was not injured.
