One dead, four injured in late South City crash

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — A violent overnight crash left one dead and several others hurt in south St. Louis on Tuesday.

The incident occurred around midnight on Tuesday in the St. Louis Hills neighborhood of South City on River Des Peres Boulevard. Police say this was a one-vehicle crash and that the damage to the vehicle is so extreme that it’s difficult to tell what kind of car it was.

The police say the driver lost control for some reason and slammed into a tree, leaving one person dead and four others hurt.

Authorities have not released the name or the age of the person who was killed. There is also no information on the ages of the others who were injured as well.

According to the police, they don’t believe the other injuries are life threatening but they also have not given specific conditions for the four people who were hurt.

Accident reconstruction crews were called in to investigate the crash because of the seriousness of the wreck. At this point, it’s unclear what caused the crash to happen in the first place.
