Missouri officer pulls over ‘UFO’ gliding down I-44

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – A lot of people are seeing a unique vehicle traveling west on I-44. They’re snapping pictures and video of the shiny car with a bumper sticker that reads, “Follow us to the UFO Festival.” A Crawford County officer pulled over the vehicle and his Facebook post now has tens of thousands of reactions and comments.

This is what a Crawford County officer reported about the traffic stop:

“Well, you never know what will be traveling through Crawford County but this one was a little out of this world. These friendly humanoids, who have come in peace, are heading west to Roswell, NM for a festival. There was a brief conversation about his out-of-space, out-of state registration, but he assured us that he would take care of that issue when he returned to Krypton.

Commenters say that the vehicle is traveling at around 50 mph. In videos posted online, the car appears to glide along the highway.

The Indianapolis Star interviewed the owner of the UFO vehicle a decade ago. Steve Anderson enjoys the attention his unique creations bring, particularly the spaceship-like car built from a 1991 Geo Metro. He draws crowds wherever he goes. The UFO car, complete with a glass canopy, shiny blue vinyl seats, and an airplane-like steering yoke, quickly gathers onlookers at gas stations and car shows.

Anderson, who runs a garage and has a background in martial arts, has sought fame through various avenues, including reality TV and local commercials. He has also dabbled in acting, securing a few small roles.

The 2024 UFO Festival in Roswell, New Mexico, takes place from July 5th to 7th. Thousands of people are expected to attend the events, that include an alien convention, a festival, a film expo, and much more.
