Man arrested for first-degree murder in Riverview

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – Charges were filed for the homicide of a man in Riverview back in February 2024.

Brandyn Hargrove, 20, is being charged with first-degree murder, unlawful use of a weapon, and two counts of armed criminal action.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the incident occurred around 7 p.m. on the 200 block of Chambers Road in Riverview on February 15.

Hargrove was the passenger in a vehicle that pulled into the parking lot of Go Go Mini Mart on Chambers Road, along with the driver’s mother in the car as well.

Once the vehicle pulled into the parking lot, the driver’s mother pointed out the vehicle of the victim, who allegedly attempted to assault the mother several days before. Hargrove reportedly responded by saying, “I’ll take care of this.”

Hargrove allegedly exited the store before opening fire and shooting the victim as the car pulled forward.

The victim, James Teague, 34, was transported to an area hospital for treatment but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The driver and the driver’s mother both identified Hargrove as the shooter.

Hargrove was arrested on July 2 and is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.
