Lyft driver held at gunpoint, carjacked in north St. Louis



ST. LOUIS – Authorities are investigating after a group of armed suspects carjacked a Lyft driver Friday evening in north St. Louis.

No injuries were reported in the incident, and no arrests have been made to this point of the investigation.

The incident unfolded around 11:30 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Lillian and Beacon avenues in St. Louis’ Walnut Park East neighborhood.

Investigators say the Lyft driver, a 27-year-old man, picked up three people from a nearby location in north St. Louis County. Once the driver reached the intended destination, he felt a gun place to his back.

The three occupants ordered the driver out of the vehicle, and he complied. The suspects took off in his dark blue 2022 Toyota RAV4 vehicle.
