CAHOKIA HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Illinois State Police is investigating a suspected hit-and-run crash in St. Clair County that left one woman dead.
On March 30, state troopers discovered the body of a woman on northbound Interstate 255 at milepost 15 around 3:20 a.m.
Investigators found evidence that the woman had been struck and killed in the lanes of traffic and that the vehicle that struck her had fled. It’s believed the vehicle involved is a Freightliner truck.
Anyone with information on the investigation is asked to contact the ISP’s Division of Criminal Investigation at 618-666-1827. Witnesses can remain anonymous.
