Group finds puppy abandoned in St. Louis-area trash pile during cleanup

ST. LOUIS – A crew helping with cleanup in the St. Louis area earlier this week reportedly found an abandoned puppy in a pile of trash.

The Missouri Department of Conservation shared about this incident Wednesday on Facebook, though did not reveal where exactly the puppy was found.

MDC says one coordinator has since decided to adopt the dog and scheduled a visit with a veterinarian. The dog didn’t appear to have any significant physical injuries based on photos MDC provided.

Crews with Missouri Stream Teams, Beyond Housing and citizens from a tiered community discovered the dog Tuesday.
