Ethics complaint report against Speaker Dean Plocher released

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – After seven months of closed-door meetings, a report was released late Monday night by a bipartisan group of lawmakers regarding the ethics complaint filed against House Speaker Dean Plocher.

The group has been meeting since the fall to discuss a complaint filed by another House member.

The report was rejected, but made three recommendations, including a letter of disapproval, a requirement that no lawmakers or staff be retaliated against for assisting the investigation, and that Plocher use an accounting professional to handle his expenses.

Plocher’s office did not have a comment following the report.
