ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An elderly man died in a pedestrian crash Friday evening in north St. Louis County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol has identified the victim as Michael West, 71, of St. Louis. Next of kin has been notified.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Friday along Missouri Route 180 near North and South Road.
A MSHP crash report states that West was walking improperly in the westbound lanes of Route 180 when a driver struck him. Crews rushed to assist West, though he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
MSHP Troop C, which covers much of the St. Louis region, is investigating the crash.
