Domestic dispute leads to St. Louis shooting, man arrested



ST. LOUIS – One woman is hurt after a domestic dispute led to a shooting Saturday morning in north St. Louis. Authorities have arrested the alleged gunman.

The victim, a 42-year-old woman, is being treated for critical injuries. The suspect, a 42-year-old man, was in a romantic relationship with the victim prior to the incident.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department has withheld identities at this point of the investigation.

The shooting happened around 5 a.m. Saturday in the 4200 block of Penrose Street in St. Louis’ O’Fallon neighborhood.

Authorities responded to a street nearby and found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound to her right thigh. The victim told police she was in a verbal argument with the suspect, though it later became physical and ended with her being shot.

Police later found the suspect nearby and arrested him without incident. The suspect was also found in possession of a weapon suspected in the shooting.

The victim is currently hospitalized in critical, but stable condition. SLMPD is handling the investigation.
