Dellwood man charged in supermarket armed robbery

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Dellwood man is accused in last week’s robbery of a north St. Louis County supermarket.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the robbery happened on Friday, April 5 at Mally Supermarket, though police did not specify which store location.

Police claim Amir Williams and three others entered the supermarket armed two guns and stole several items. The store owner called police to report the robbery. Williams and the others drove away from the supermarket in a Dodge Charger, which had recently been reported stolen.

Police located the Charger and attempted to make a traffic stop, but the vehicle sped away.

Williams was arrested a short time later. Police claim he was driving the Charger. Two guns were located in the driver’s side area of the vehicle.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Williams with first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, and resisting arrest. Williams was jailed on a $100,000 cash-only bond. He’s due in court next week for a bond reduction hearing.
