Charges issued for AC unit thefts in Jennings

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Glasgow Village man is charged with stealing AC units in Jennings earlier this spring.

According to the St. Louis County Police Department’s probable cause statement, the thefts occurred between April 26 and 30.

Police claim James D. Lambert, 29, stole the units from properties in the 6300 block of Sherry Avenue and the 5200 block of Hamilton Avenue. Both properties were under renovation at the time and owned by the same victim.

Police and prosecutors said the AC units are each worth more than $750. Both units were eventually recovered and returned the owner.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Lambert with second-degree burglary and two counts of stealing – $750 or more. Lambert is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
