Battlehawks Fans are ready for UFL championship

ST. LOUIS — Thursday night, fans gathered at Ballpark Village to celebrate 314 days, and the announcement of the inaugural UFL championship will be held in St. Louis in June.

“I think the fan base earned the right to have the championship game here. I mean, when you’re talking about 35… 38 plus thousand a game. That’s impressive. The big. I mean, that’s really a professional-level attendance mark,” said Anthony Becht, St. Louis Battlehawks Head Coach.

Fans came out to hear the league officials talk about their backgrounds, what they were expecting for the new season,  and the UFL championship.

“It should’ve been last year, I mean, its just a year late and a dollar short. But I’m very excited because I think we will have 60,000 in the dome for championship game 70 if the Battlehawks make it,” said  a Battlehawk fan.

“Because I have been here since I was seven years old and I love battlehawks because they’re really good,” said Bella Elam, a Battlehawk fan.

“We’re going to make it past the playoffs! Were going to make it to the championships. We’re going to take it all,” said Toby Brown, a Battlehawk fan.

Some public officials came out to support them as well.

“ Yes, we got to support the Battlehawks. 314 day. We got to support all of our Saint Louis. Not only sports teams but businesses”  said Wesley Bell, St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney.

Fans were able to purchase tickets at a discounted price while celebrating. Some love the team so much that they drove miles to support it!

“ I drove 60 miles from the south and I wasn’t going anywhere! I mean, Battlehawks are number one to me,” said Sandy Johnston, a Battlehawk fan.

The head coach has hopes that they will make it to the championship game this year.

“We have a lot of core players back. Our quarterback is back. Our line, our receivers. Weve added some key players through the draft from other teams who are no longer with the league. “We are really excited for what we have,” said Anthony Becht, St. Louis Battlehawks Head Coach.

Fans are excited for the beginning of the season, which is less than a month away and that the inaugural UFL championship will be held in Saint Louis on Sunday, June 16th.
