ALTON, Ill. – The Alton Police Department is investigating an incident that left one male dead early Friday morning.
According to police, dispatchers received a call from the 200 block of W. 19th St. around 3 a.m. before it was disconnected.
Officials arrived to the residence, where they found two males in the front yard. One of the males was not breathing or conscious when officers, along with the fire department, attempted life-saving measures. The individual was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Alton Police say their preliminary investigation show that the incident was domestic-related and that there is no danger to the public.
Police are continuing to investigate the homicide.
