Accused burglar faces a dozen charges for thefts across St. Louis County



ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – An accused burglar is facing charges related to eight separate incidents over the past five weeks in St. Louis County.

According to the Normandy Police Department’s probable cause statement, Dontae Henderson (age not provided) was arrested on March 10 while attempting to break into a Boost Mobile in the 8600 block of Natural Bridge Road. Police claim Henderson was armed with a gun. He’s prohibited from owning or possessing a gun due to an October 2021 burglary conviction.

Other law enforcement agencies have documented break-ins or thefts tied to Henderson.

The Chesterfield Police Department claims that on February 11, February 13, and February 18, Henderson stole several hundred dollars’ worth of merchandise from the Market by Macy’s store in the Chesterfield Commons shopping district.

The Hazelwood Police Department claims that on February 6 and 29, Henderson broke into two car dealers for the purposes of stealing vehicles. No additional information has been released on those incidents.

On March 4, Henderson broke into a Toyota dealer on Dunn Road, Hazelwood police said. He broke into a Bommarito Ford dealership on Dunn Road on March 7 and stole a Ford Edge SUV.

The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Henderson with five counts of second-degree burglary, three counts of stealing – $750 or more, three counts of stealing a motor vehicle, and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.
