Man wanted for Central West End drive-by shooting
ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis Circuit Court judge signed an arrest warrant for a Valley Park man accused of committing a drive-by shooting in the Central West End this spring.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department’s probable cause statement, the shooting happened on April 5 at the intersection Lindell Boulevard and North Sarah Street.
Police said Davante R. Coffie, 23, pulled alongside a maroon Dodge Durango at the intersection, took out a gun, and started shooting. The victim in the Durango was struck in the neck and arm. Gunfire also struck a nearby structure.
Police said Coffie was a convicted felon at the time of the shooting and was on federal probation for theft of a firearm.
The St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office charged Coffie on June 27 with first-degree assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, one count of unlawful possession of a weapon, and three counts of armed criminal action.
